Mandy Loader is an adjunct instructor in the Studies of Global Media Programs and in the Human Rights Practice Program in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. She also serves as the program associate at the Center for Border & Global Journalism, where she helped manage the center’s Al Jisr (The Bridge) cultural exchange program with partners and students in the U.S. and Yemen from 2021-2024.

Mandy earned dual master’s degrees in journalism and studies of global media at the University of Arizona and has a bachelor’s in communication from the University of Utah. Her areas of focus include global journalism, migration, human rights, and media development, and she conducted field research in Mexico-U.S. border cities for a project that reported on Guatemalan migrants seeking asylum in the U.S. She also helped cover border and local government issues at the Arizona Daily Star.
