Lena Yanina Estrada Añokazi

Lena Yanina Estrada Añokazi is a member of the Indigenous Uitoto Minɨka, a people who inhabit their ancestral territory -- Nofuɨco La Chorrera -- in the Colombian Amazon. She is a political scientist from the National University of Colombia-UN. and a PhD candidate in Sustainability at the Sustainability Institute of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia-UPC.

​Her studies and actions are focused on reflection, management, advice on development models, sustainable alternatives and political analysis in scenarios with indigenous and vulnerable populations.

She has contributed to processes of indigenous peoples, in the claim of rights of various social sectors; contributing to the creation and implementation of public policies for the protection of territory, biodiversity, traditional knowledge, human rights, the dignity of women, the participation of youth, the protection of children, the promotion of art and culture, and coordination with various actors for the construction of peace.
