Seanna Howard

Clinician and Professor of Practice, College of Law, Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program

Seánna Howard, LL.B., LL.M., is a Clinician and Professor of Practice with the University of Arizona College of Law, Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program. She has been with the Program for more than 10 years, representing indigenous communities on precedent-setting cases before the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations human rights systems. Through the International Human Rights Advocacy Workshop, Seánna provides law students the opportunity to work on live cases and advocacy efforts before these international human rights bodies. Seánna has represented the Western Shoshone, the Chiricahua Apache, the Maya of the Toledo District (Belize), the Hul’qumi’num Treaty Group (Canada) and is currently lead counsel for the Navajo Nation on their petition to the OAS. Her specializations include international human rights law, indigenous peoples’ rights, and business and human rights.
