HRTS 496a/596a New Course! – Human Rights Crises: The War in Ukraine -- Exploring human rights violations caused by the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, including a refugee crisis.
HRTS 495a/595a – Human Rights Across Contexts: The Human Rights of LGBT Persons: Applying human rights to address oppression based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
Summer Session 2: July-August
HRTS 400: Community Engagement for Human Rights -- Integrating the study of border imperialism with community work and an experiential learning component.
Fall Session 1: August-October
HRTS 420: Community-Based Research for Human Rights – Focusing on planning and implementing participation action research in marginalized communities.
HRTS 200: Introduction to Human Rights: Covering historical, theoretical, legal, and practical aspects of human rights, as well as issues in working with community groups.
Fall Session 2: October-December
HRTS 300: Human Rights in the United States – Applying interdisciplinary approaches to explore such topics as reproductive justice, homelessness, and mass incarceration.
HRTS 411: Strategic Litigation – Covering the use of lawsuits to advance larger human rights goals, with a focus on practical applications and applied methods.
