About Cynthia Burr
Human Rights Practice has been the foundation and passion for my more than 20 years of service in social/human services. From managing group homes and crisis nurseries, teaching and advocating for special needs children, and working with UA's own Human Services program, I hope to expand my knowledge of human rights practice, advance my career, and become an even more vocal and visual supporter of human rights. As Vice-Chair of the Steering Committee for Maricopa County's STEP (Success, Train, Engage, Prepare) for Youth coalition, my priority is to bring an experienced and educated voice in the quest for equality and representation for at-risk youth. As a mom to three biracial boys, I strive to arm myself with with the tools necessary to stand up and speak out for them, and teach them to do the same. I will begin classes this fall and cannot wait to see where this path leads.
